Department Process to Add a Minor (Current UCSB Students)

Adding the minor is easy -- just fill out the Intent to Minor for Linguistics Form here*.

Have questions? Please email the staff department undergraduate advisor at undergradadvisor@linguistics.ucsb.edu with your perm number, which minor, and any questions you may have. 

The TESOL minor does require students to have taken one of the core TESOL classes (LING 139, 140, or 141) to be eligible to add the minor. To add LING 139, 140, or 141; students must join a manual waitlist to be issued an approval code during pass 2. The waitlist for Spring '24 LING 140 is now available here.


Finished Your Minor?

Once the grade has been posted for your last course in the Linguistics minor, please fill out the form below. The form will be reviewed by the department automatically, so there's no need to reach out regarding its status. Please note that the form will be rejected if the grade for your last course in the minor has not yet been posted.
